After the recent understanding between build Nepal North Kathmandu Development Initiative and Tarakeshwor Municipality. buildNepal tech team is working on the development of the mobile application. Tarakeshwor Municipality wants to launch a mobile application to promote open governance, accountability, and transparency. In such initiation, North Kathmandu Development Initiative will be the major community engagement partner whereas buildNepal will help in the development of Mobile App.
This concept of open governance adapts the use of modern technology. By providing public access to the decisions, transactions, and other government documents with the use of Mobile Application. Tarakeshwor Municipality believes that this would help them to ensure public transparency and accountability. As well as increase public participation in the development activities.
North Kathmandu Development Initiative and Tarkeshwor Municipality have signed an MOU. It states that North Kathmandu will look after the update and management of the app. Whereas the Tarkeshwor Municipality will facilitate the publishing of Data and Information.
Thus developed app will be piloted in Tarakeshwor Municipality and upon successful operation. Also, builNepal envisions to expand it to other municipalities also. Open Governance via the Mobile app is one of the focus areas as part of good governance and support on Local Governance.
